Using Tapsy
Step 01 — Finish onboarding and meet your sample dots
The first launch shows a single onboarding screen with the Tapsy ripple, the line “Tap Once, Remembered,” and a Get Started button. After you tap it, Tapsy seeds three sample dots so the home screen isn’t empty — you can keep them, edit them, or delete them.
Step 02 — Tap to record, tap again to undo
The home screen is the whole app: today’s date at the top, a grid of dot icons, and the hint “Tap to record · Long press to view.” Tap any dot to log it for today. A checkmark appears, the dot’s gradient brightens, and a small toast confirms the action. Tap the same dot again on the same day and the record is removed.
Step 03 — Add your own dots
Tap the dashed + tile at the end of the grid to open the Dot editor. Give the dot a name, pick an emoji (or an animated icon if you’ve unlocked a pack), and choose one of the gradient themes. Save, and the new dot drops into the grid. You can hold up to 20 active dots; archive ones you’ve outgrown to keep the grid uncluttered.
Step 04 — Look back with the calendar and long-press
Swipe left on the home screen to step a day backward, or tap the date header to jump via the calendar. To dive deeper into one specific dot, long-press it — a sheet slides up with the dot’s total count and a calendar grid showing which days have records this month. It’s a low-pressure way to notice patterns without turning the app into a streak game.
Step 05 — Wear it on your wrist, and sync via iCloud
Install the Apple Watch companion from the Watch app on iPhone. It shares the same data through iCloud — sign both devices into the same Apple ID with iCloud enabled and they sync automatically through CloudKit. On the Watch, swipe between cards to pick a dot, tap the card to record, and Tapsy advances to the next unfinished dot of the day.
