Summary
Niyu is an on-device tool for organizing health records. The report images, recognized results, medication and visit records, and doctor summaries you create stay on your device. We collect no personal data, and there is no account.
What we collect
Niyu does not collect any personal data. The app has no feature that uploads your records to a server.
What we do not collect
- No account or sign-in.
- No analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDK.
- No access to your location or contacts, and no reading or writing of Apple Health data.
- No cross-app tracking and no advertising identifier.
Data stored on your device
- Report page images, the text and positions recognized on each page, and the lab results organized from them;
- Events you record, such as medication, symptoms, tests and conversations with your doctor;
- Doctor summaries you generate and the questions you write down for your doctor;
- Display preferences, such as how result names are shown and how lab items are ordered.
This data lives in Niyu’s own app container, which other apps cannot read; report images are written with iOS data protection. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Backups and new phones
Niyu has no sync service of its own. Your data is included in your iPhone backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), handled by Apple according to your settings. Restoring a new phone from that backup brings it along.
Permissions
- Camera: used only to photograph reports; photos are saved on your device.
- When you pick a report from Photos or Files, Niyu reads only the images or PDFs you select.
Recognition runs on your device
Text recognition uses Apple’s built-in Vision framework and the PP-OCRv6 model bundled with the app, run on your iPhone through ONNX Runtime. Recognition needs no network connection and never sends images to any server.
Sharing and export
When you copy summary text, export a PDF or share, you choose the destination in the system share sheet. Niyu never sends anything on its own.
Third-party services
Niyu uses no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or cloud services. ONNX Runtime, an open-source component bundled with the app, runs the recognition model on your device and does not connect to the network.
Apple’s data collection
If you have opted in to “Share with App Developers” in iOS Settings, Apple may collect anonymized crash and usage statistics, governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
